When Does Macy’s 2023 Black Friday Sale Start?

New early access specials usually go live the first or second week of November, with new deals dropping each week throughout the month. You will likely be able to shop Black Friday specials as early as Sunday during Thanksgiving week.

  • Macy’s Thanksgiving Store Hours: All stores will be closed.
  • Macy’s Black Friday Store Hours: Stores open as early as 6 a.m.

We recommend that you don’t wait to do your shopping this year. Consumers are doing their Black Friday shopping earlier ever year, so some items may run out if you wait too long. Macy’s has a generous return policy, so you can always buy it now and return it later if you change your mind.

Disclaimer: Sale prices from our deal roundup are sourced directly from the Black Friday Specials ad and may not reflect the current sale price. Percentage-off discounts (without a specific ad price) reflect the current price on and may change as we get closer to Black Friday.

More Ways to Save at Macy’s During Black Friday

Macy’s Black Friday deals are already highly discounted, but there’s potential to save even more money on your holiday shopping:

  • Download the Macy’s app. If you don’t already have Macy’s mobile app, you may want to wait until Black Friday to download it — Macy’s has offered discounts for first in-app orders in the past.
  • Enroll in the Star Rewards Program. Macy’s loyalty program lets you earn discounts toward future purchases based on how much you spend, usually in the form of 1% to 5% kickbacks. The store’s cardholders are automatically enrolled in Star Rewards as Silver-tier members, but you don’t need a Macy’s credit card to join. Anyone can enroll online, in-store or over the phone and become a Bronze member of Star Rewards for free.
  • Buy discounted gift cards in advance. Now is the time to purchase discounted Macy’s gift cards and merchandise return credit through certified websites and eBay accounts. You can save 5-10% off your total order by buying a discounted card.
  • Pick up your items in-store. Spending less than $49? Skip the shipping charge by selecting free in-store pickup at checkout. Last year, shoppers also received a Savings Pass worth 15% to 20% off their next in-store purchase when they elected to ship their online Macy’s order to their local store. Be on the lookout for a similar promotion this year.

Why Choose Slickdeals This Black Friday?

Kim Martin

Before joining the digital world, I was a fashion and beauty magazine editor in NYC (yes, just like Carrie Bradshaw, with fewer shoes) where I worked with Aol, Business Insider, NBC, and oversaw many site launches. I left NYC for Maui to surf before relocating to sunny LA. Since joining Slickdeals, my proudest Frontpage deals have been Starbucks ground coffee (@$3/bag), a $30 parka (regularly $179), and a 12-pack of top-tier T.P. for $4. I'm a total foodie who once worked with the best restaurants in NYC (Le Bernardin and others). Also a very proud adopted dog owner obsessed with all things dogs.
